Serial Numbers is a unique identifier to distinguish one a product/material from another.

Argonaut can generate serial number with various identifiers:

Prefix- a word, letters or number at the beginning.
Julian day- is the number of days since the beginning of the year.
Year- include the current year the product was manufactured.
Internal part number- can be used as a reference within.
Shift - include which shift(1st, 2nd, 3rd) the product was manufactured on.
Sequence- specify the order of your serial number.

Serial number can consist of numbers or alphabetic only or a combination of both with alphanumeric. Another option is safe alphabet or safe alphanumeric. Safe alphanumeric and safe alphabet eliminates the following letters 'I', 'L', 'O' and 'S' which can cause confusion to many because they are similar looking to other characters. image
